Wild Yak

Wild Yak

Wild yaks can withstand temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F), during the height of the winter season.

The wild yak is a large, hairy bovid found in the Himalayas. 90% of all known yaks can be found in the Tibetan Plateau, and most of them are domesticated (Bos grunniens). They are herbivorous animals and live in herds. Wild yaks can climb to altitudes as high as 6,100 meters above sea level.
